SLINKY VAGABOND Singer Auditions For VELVET REVOLVER; Video Available

Video footage of SLINKY VAGABOND singer Keanan Duffty — a British-born musician-turned-designer — laying down vocals in the studio for a VELVET REVOLVER audition tape can be viewed below. It is believed that the music being played in the clip is new material that was demoed in instrumental form by VELVET REVOLVER members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.

Commented Keanan in an online posting: "A few months ago I received two instrumental tracks from VELVET REVOLVER's management Sanctuary Artist Management after I had requested the opportunity to audition for the VELVET REVOLVER lead singer job. Oh, the audacity!

"The two aforementioned tracks are the wonderfully named 'Motha Fucka' and a second track called 'Clappy'. My task was to add lyrics, and vocals. Earl Slick agreed to accompany me to Club House studios in Rhinebeck, NY, to produce the session.

"The tracks 'Fear No Evil' and 'Prima Donna' are the results. I hope VR fans enjoy them.

"I had the honor to sing with Matt Sorum and the CAMP FREDDY boys at the Hilfiger Sessions show in New York earlier this year. Matt is a great guy and I hope that VR are able to fill the big shoes vacated by Mr. Scott Weiland."

In addition to Duffty, SLINKY VAGABOND features in its ranks with Earl Slick (a member of David Bowie's touring band),Glen Matlock (SEX PISTOLS) and Clem Burke (BLONDIE).

Believing that music and fashion go hand in hand, Duffty's menswear collections are infused with innovative and patterned fabrics, rock 'n' roll elements and British iconography.

Duffty moved to New York in 1993 and set about designing a line of men's clothing. Today, his collection is sold in upscale boutiques and department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Fred Segal, Lane Crawford Hong Kong and numerous stores in Japan. From the outset, the KD collection has earned immense coverage from the press and media. The late, great Kal Ruttenstein praised Duffty as a "designer to watch out for."
